Today, I am very happy to share with you some wonderful tips and Thanksgiving Ideas for family and friends. Let’s start by doing Thanksgiving cookies recipe with the family and specially for the kids who love to bake.  It began as a day of giving thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on Thursday, November 25, 2021. Don’t forget Black Friday opens very early, or some time on Thanksgiving Day. Don’t forget we are still in Covid-19 Pandemic.

 

 

Perfect Roast Turkey

What you need:

  • 1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 lemon, zested and juice
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 fresh turkey (10 to 12 pounds)
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 large bunch fresh thyme
  • 1 whole lemon, halved
  • 1 Spanish onion, quartered
  • 1 head garlic, halved crosswise

Directions:  

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Add the zest and juice of the lemon and 1 teaspoon of thyme leaves to the butter mixture. Set aside.
  • Take the giblets out of the turkey and wash the turkey inside and out. Remove any excess fat and leftover pinfeathers and pat the outside dry. Place the turkey in a large roasting pan. Liberally salt and pepper the inside of the turkey cavity. Stuff the cavity with the bunch of thyme, halved lemon, quartered onion, and the garlic. Brush the outside of the turkey with the butter mixture and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Tie the legs together with string and tuck the wing tips under the body of the turkey.
  • Roast the turkey about 2 1/2 hours, or until the juices run clear when you cut between the leg and the thigh. Remove the turkey to a cutting board and cover with aluminum foil; let rest for 20 minutes.
  • Slice the turkey and serve.

Bread Dumpling Skillet Sausage Stuffing 

They were so easy to use and made the perfect stuffing by adding great flavor and texture. This Bread Dumpling Skillet Sausage Stuffing is going to be your new holiday tradition. It only requires a few ingredients and one pan. Here is what you need:

Ingredients

  • 2 Boxes of Chateau Bread Dumplings, Thawed and cut into cubes.
  • 1 Tube of Pork Breakfast Sausage
  • 1 Medium Yellow Onion, Diced
  • 3 Stalks of Celery, Diced
  • Dried Parsley
  • 1 Egg
  • Garlic Salt and Pepper
  • 4 T of Butter
  • Poultry Seasoning
  • 1/2 C of Milk
  • 3 to 4 C of either Homemade or a Carton of Turkey Stock

 

                 

 

Steps

  1. In a cast iron skillet, add two tablespoons butter and brown the pork sausage.
  2. Add the celery and onion and cook until soft.
  3. Season with garlic salt, pepper and poultry seasoning to taste.
  4. Add the bread dumpling cubes a little at a time and toss to coat with the sausage and celery/onion mixture.
  5. In a bowl whisk the egg with the milk, parsley, poultry seasoning, and black pepper. Set aside.
  6. Add the turkey stock a cup at a time to the bread dumpling/sausage mixture. The dumplings should be pretty wet, it will take 3 to 4 cups of stock.

 


Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies

  • roll (16.5 oz.) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Sugar Cookie Dough or 1 package (16 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Ready To Bake! ™ Sugar Cookie Dough (24 Count)
  • 2/3 cup chocolate creamy frosting (from 16 oz. container)
  • Candy corn
  • Orange decorating icing
  • M&M’s® Minis™ chocolate candy
  • Black decorating gel

Steps

  1. Bake cookies as directed on roll or package. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
  2. Spoon chocolate frosting into 1-quart freezer storage bag; seal bag. Cut off tiny bottom corner of bag. On each cookie, pipe frosting on outer edge of half of cookie. Arrange candy corn over frosting for feathers.
  3. Pipe orange icing onto each cookie to resemble turkey face and feet. Use orange icing to attach baking bits to turkey face for eyes. Pipe black gel on baking bits for centers of eyes.

Prep Instructions

HEAT oven to 350ºF (or 325ºF for nonstick cookie sheet). CUT dough into 1/2-inch slices.

PLACE 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

BAKE 11 to 14 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.

COOL 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet.

CUTOUT COOKIES: Knead 1/4 cup all-purpose flour into dough. Roll on floured surface until 1/4 inch thick. Cut with 2 1/2-inch cutter. Bake 8 to 11 minutes.
