The first question we always get asked is “Which insurance is cheaper?”

What is Snapshot®?

 

Snapshot is Progressive’s usage-based insurance (UBI) program that offers customers a personalized rate based on driving characteristics

 that they can control.

There are several different ways to participate in Snapshot. *

  • Download the Progressive Mobile App

  • Plug-in Device for On-Board Diagnostic port

Participation Discount

When a customer says “Yes” to Snapshot, they’ll immediately receive a discount at the point of sale of up to 10% just for signing up.

Download/Plugin

The customer decides if they would like to participate in Snapshot using a mobile app or a plug-in device. The customer will only be presented with options that they are eligible for, so there’s no need for you to determine eligibility. Either way, they must download and register the app or plug-in within 45 days of enrollment to prevent being opted out of the program. If the customer does not do this, they risk losing the participation discount mid-term, which will increase their premium.

 

Drive

The customer drives as usual, and we’ll measure factors such as hard brakes, driving duration, time of day, hard accelerations, and trip regularity. For customers who are participating using the mobile app, we also measure in-hand phone use while driving. Customers can check their progress and find tips on how to improve their safe driving habits by logging into their policy online or in the Progressive app.

 

Higher deductibles mean bigger savings for customers

  • How long have you been offering $500 deductibles? With inflation, $750 is the new $500, so it may be time for a change.

  • Customers can now choose $750, $1,000, $1,500, and other higher deductible options in most states. * The higher the deductible, the more customers can save, and the more new business prospects you’re likely to close.

  • Plus, with the Deductible Savings Bank®, you can help customers enjoy the best of both worlds—immediate premium savings thanks to a higher deductible, along with $50 deductible credits that customers can “bank” with each violation- and claim-free policy period.

 Deductible Savings Bank coverage. When customers add the coverage, they’ll automatically start putting away $50 in their “savings bank” for every incident-free policy term they have. They can use their bank to help reduce or even eliminate their deductible payment in the event of a Comprehensive or Collision Claim or glass replacement claim.
